During it's inaugural year, Lethbridge & District Exhibition Lotteries was proud to partner with Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association, to support the delivery of vibrant opportunities to community members.
Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association (LTRA) offers individuals with special needs, hands-on instruction in riding and horse care to exercise the body and spirit within. Formerly called Rainbow Riding Centre, the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association began in 1976 when a few individuals offered instruction in riding and horse care to students with various disabilities. Today, the program has grown to include many volunteers aiding more than 350 students each year.
As a registered charitable organization, LTRA operates with a handful of staff members under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors and the dedication of many, many volunteers.
In 2022, Judi Slusar from Swift Current, Saskatchewan was awarded $19,585.00 by Lethbridge & District Exhibition Lotteries.
“Total shock was my reaction when I got the call today! I’m still trying to process it! I was waiting for my grandkids on a ride and thought I should buy a ticket. It was the best idea I’ve had! I try to make it to Whoop-Up Days with the grand kids whenever I can.” – Judi Slusar
